With mokka to go, you carry a ritual with you — one that puts you in a state of comfort even before the coffee reaches your cup. A compact, light and versatile stove-top percolator.
It works after a principle that was patented in 1889 and got famous through the octagonal coffee cooker after 1933. But mokka to go allows hot brewing and cold dripping.
The percolator is 172mm tall and with its ⌀ 75mm, it fits in every bag, rucksack or bicycle bottle cage, adding only 263 gr to your luggage (308 gr with 2 mugs and the drip-ring included). You can brew a maximum of 250ml of delicious coffee (4T).
The main body and the filter-basket are made of high-grade aluminium, while the filters are made of stainless steel. The cover, hotring, seals, and mug-rings (for personalization) are made from durable, FDA-approved silicone. The matching mugs are made from FDA-approved, long-lasting PP
Yes! Aluminium is the most abundant metal in the earth’s crust, making up about 8% of the earth's surface. It is present naturally in nearly all rocks, soils, and in water, air, and the human body. Aluminium found in soil and water can be absorbed by vegetation. Based on evidence from multiple studies, EFSA recommends a tolerable weekly intake (TWI) of 1 mg aluminium/kg body weight/week. In 2011, JECFA reviewed new evidence, which led to an increased provisional tolerable weekly intake (PTWI) of 2 mg/kg BW, confirming it is safe for people to consume up to this level without appreciable risk to health.
Yes! The product consists of 14 individual components (cover, c-rod, top, hotring, c-filter, seal, b-filter, basket, b-rod, valve, boiler, mugs, mug-rings, and drip-ring) that can be purchased separately.
It is. The c-filter and the large seal around it are compatible with 6T filter- & seal-sets from E&B-Lab and Bialetti.
Hot brewing with this percolator is incredibly easy, and thanks to its century-old history, the handling is widely known. Cold drip-brewing is new but equally simple, and both methods deliver the same great result: delicious coffee!
Very little! Rinse it thoroughly before use to remove any old ground coffee. Occasionally disassemble and clean with water and soap, if there are heavy stains.
All silicone parts and mugs are dishwasher safe.
The security-valve ensures the pressure in the boiler doesn’t exceed 4 bar (58 psi).
After an exhaustive search in Switzerland, across Europe, India, and East Asia, we partnered with manufacturing experts in China who specialize in cookware, have a passion for innovation, and possess the necessary resources to create this unique product.
The product is owned by the Swiss company Inbus 5 GmbH.
On April 15th, 2024, after 36 years of exploring the world and testing various brewing methods, Sven Jan Hiltbrand, the owner of Inbus 5 GmbH, began designing the first prototype. Only 23 days later, he brewed coffee with it for the first time. Since then, it has evolved and is now ready for your adventures.
They look great but serve a practical purpose two. When cold-drip brewing, they indicate the degree to which you twist the c-rod counterclockwise. The further you twist, the faster it drips.
The coordinates point to this exact spot where it was “born” in Fusion 360 and where it evolved until today.
These feet push slightly outwards to keep the filter in place in the basket and elevate it when flipped, reducing the amount of coffee in the basket for brews with less water.
With its wavy bottom, it is perfect for gas stoves. It can also be used on electric hot plates. With the silicone hotring removed, it can even be used on embers. On induction hot plates please use a magnetic baseplate.
Like all stovetop percolators, the best grind size is medium to fine (360 to 660 microns). If the coffee tastes sour (under-extracted), use finer ground coffee. If it tastes bitter (over-extracted), use coarser coffee.
Good coffee needs time! While it’s possible to brew very fast and hot, it’s recommended to set the heat to a lower intensity so the water has enough time for proper extraction.
Stovetop percolators are primarily designed for brewing coffee. It should only be used with water when assembled. However, filling the basket with tea (not every kind, as some teas take longer to extract) works well. When used open (no basket inserted, no top on), the boiler can be used to heat other liquids (such as milk) but must be cleaned thoroughly afterward.
